Our work at Corpus Christi College Cambridge’s Grade-I Listed chapel gains Listed Building Consent

After detailed consultation with Historic England we are thrilled that listed building consent has been granted for our works at a Grade-I listed college Chapel in Cambridge. The works will see a new smoke alarm system which will protect the historic fabric for years to come.

The roof of the William Wilkins building was radically altered after Wilkin’s initial drawings making the installation of any smoke detection hugely difficult due to the complex truss arrangement. The chapel is largely uncluttered by services and so preserving the serenity of the chapel through the use of an aspirating smoke alarm is a welcome achievement.

We look forward to getting on site in February…
